Membership

Library Membership is offered to the current students, researchers and staff of the college. Library reference facilities are extended to non-members also.Faculties to issue 10 cards and Non-Teaching staff 2 cards and students 4 cards for borrowing books and journals from library.

Services

Library offers circulation services, reference services, Electronic information services, Digital Library services,consultancy services, reprography services etc. to the users.

Library Automation
Library is automated with open source software ‘Koha’ in the year 2011 and the online public access catalogue (OPAC) is made available to the users to browse the library books replacing the conventional card catalogue system. The books are classified with international Dewey Decimal System of classification (DDC) The server is installed in Linux Platform and users can browse the catalogue from anywhere in the campus and the searches can be carried out on the basis of author, title, subject, call number , isbn etc.

Digital Library
Open source software ‘Dspace’ is used for maintaining the instituitional repository of scholarly content of the faculty members of the college. The server is of Linux platform and the repository consists of journal articles, Electronic thesis and dissertations, presentations, mini projects, university question papers and News paper clippings and summary.

Barcode Technology
Barcode technology is made applicable to circulation services so that the effectiveness and efficiency of the section is improved considerably. The possibility for errors at circulation counter is minimized to a large extent with the application of barcode technology.
Web-browsing
The library provides web browsing facility to the users to retrieve information and data quickly from the internet. Wireless internet is available to all users to their laptops/personal computers so that they can make the best use of the electronic information resources at any time.
Closed Circuit Television System (CCTV)
The library is observed with six number CCTV cameras working 24×7 basis. The system is useful for monitoring the library premises and to prevent book theft and other disturbances. Security to library collection and equipments is enhanced with the introduction of CCTV system.
Reprography
Reprography facilities like scanning and printing facilities are available inside the library. A full-fledged photocopying centre is attached to the library so that users can take photocopies of documents at reduced rates.
Training Programme for Library Professionals
The library organized 3 National level workshops 2 in ‘Koha’ and 1 in ‘Dspace’ softwares and yearly conducted one day training programme was organized for the librarians working under state library council libraries in Kannur, Kasargode and Wayanad Districts. The programme was focused on public library services and the technological applications in public libraries using Open source software koha.
